I am on Clarks Hill In Georgia. I have been afloat since spring 97. I don't see any issues. No visible corrosion. The paint job in spring 1997 was 2 primers, 3 anti fouling (1 Red 2 Blue).

OK, Norm got me going...

Yep, My M.D. has been trying to catch me for the last two years to do a bottom job on me.Not talking But for a 53 year old I'm still kind of spry and still believe that my bottom is doing just fine.

A few of the big M 's in the Cinti. area have gone bare bottom but they do not go out verry much. Dont know how it hurts milage. There is a 1968
Pluckyblum at the harbor that never saw paint on her bottom.

Mike,

If the pocket book allows there’s a product out called SKAT that’s a clear A/F emulsion type polish (no buffing) that U simply spray on, that some of the go fast boaters use it works fairly well & the faster the boat goes the better it works. I use it on my DUX R-I-B some slim does occur if it set
to long like this season due to enclimate weather we had, waters did really get warm up till mid Aug. The Peel Away stripper runs about $220 for 5gal would need 3/4 5gal pails to get the job done account of the epoxy barrier coating, according to the tech I talk to. Another thing I’m fearing is that I might run in a lot of filler as I did on the F/B what a costly predicament that got me into. Brick wall BTW any of U out there that had your bottoms blasted was there a lot of filler? Think

My boat is in fresh water, gets used every week or so, and has a yearly coat Trilux 33 A/F paint applied, yet it has barnacles and slime buildup. I shudder to think what the bottom would look like if it was bare.

Bottom blasted last spring - no sign of filler (and more importantly, no sign of corrosion after 20 yrs)
