In this photo of our M360, you see the pressure sender unit (top), and 2 pressure switches. The one on the left (single wire) goes to the "low oil press" alarm and the one on the right is wired in series with the alternator field coil.

Found these in a search:

http://www.marinetteboat.com/ChryslerEngine.pdf

TYPICAL ENGINE WIRING HARNESS COLORS
PURPLE--------- IGNITION
LIGHT BLUE---- OIL PRESSURE
YELLOW/RED---STARTER
GREY------------(–) COIL (FOR TACH)
TAN-------------WATER TEMPERATURE
BLACK----------GROUND
RED-------------BATTERY
PINK------------AUX (FUEL – BUZZER – ETC)

Hope this helps.

Dennis

The above posted color connection guide was on one side of a cardboard label that was attached to the original engine wiring harness. The attached picture is my recreation of the other side of the label. When I get around to it I was going to print up some new ones to replace the water soaked ones from my boat. There is another label that shows the basic starter wiring. When I get my scanner hooked up I will make a picture so I can recreate that one.

dennis, did you change yours when you put in the 87 motor or was it like that from 75.if so they must have changed in 73,74, or 75 .your dipstick is at the back too must have changed after 84.

The repower was done before we bought her. Previous owner said it was done in 1992 with a 1987 M360.

FYI ,i never found the right harness ,but i found the one below .it did the job but the color codeing is not right but the large red is in the same place.you just have to cut the ground at the engine end and bolt it to the mounting bracket(the same place the one into the plug went).and the large black in the new ends up being the tach wire.

also there is no orange wire like was on the old engine .every thing seems to work i think is the return to put the amp gauge in the loop.may switch it to a voltage gauge.
